UMC pastor with a passion for liturgy, pastoral care, and spiritual formation in emergent and ecumenical contexts.
An ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, Andrew’s life with God has been nurtured by the Duke Youth Academy, the Society of St. John the Evangelist, and the Order of St. Luke.
Andrew studied at UNC Chapel Hill and Duke Divinity School, and is a member of the North Carolina Conference of the UMC. He has served as a parish pastor in Massachusetts, Michigan, and North Carolina; a hospital chaplain; and a campus minister. He currently lives and works in Carrboro, NC.
Andrew is married to Dr. Sarah Jean Barton, who teaches at Duke University and treats kiddos as an occupational therapist at Duke Hospital. He is a 4 on the Enneagram, and with Sarah, loves being human parents to Jed and CJ the Maltipoos. He finds joy in being outside with his family, listening to folk music, and exploring the world of books.
